Carats

Conflict diamonds. War diamonds. Blood diamonds.

Carats

There’s a storm passing by, it alters everything
There’s a bullet in the dark, and no one hears it
It’s the ground that glistens
And the soul that’s missing

What’s the purpose of this fight?
There are no winners, only sinners
And they play on both sides
So they just let it slide

Shine, nothing seems important
Shine, more valued than life
Blood, on their tears and their hands
Most are just left on the side

The power is exercised
And dreamers are believers
But they can’t stop it now
When the ghosts come around

And now it’s here
Brand new red carpet story of the year
Something to take a glance at
While the rest is left without a chance

There’s a girl on the street, her brother is bleeding
There’s a cry in the land, but no one to listen
It’s the beauty we’re stealing
It’s our hell that we’re bringing

And now it’s here
Gracing the covers
Inspiring desires
To stoke up the fire

And now it’s here
Around her bare neck
How many have gone to waste
So she can stand above the rest?
